Alloy steel used in the foundry state, also known as Cast Alloy Steel. According to its use, alloy cast steel is divided into cast alloy structural steel and special purpose alloy cast steel. The former is low- and medium-alloy cast steel, which is mainly used to make general mechanical structural parts. The latter are mostly high alloy cast steel, such as wear-resistant cast steel, stainless acid-resistant cast steel, heat-resistant cast steel, cast alloy tool steel and so on.

Features
The volume shrinkage of steel is mainly related to the carbon content. When the carbon content is high, the shrinkage rate is large, and the alloying element has little influence on it. Manganese and elements of refined crystal structure such as vanadium, titanium, and zirconium can reduce the tendency of hot cracking, and chromium and molybdenum increase the tendency of hot cracking. The alloying elements increase the thermal conductivity and increase the casting stress, which increases the cold cracking tendency of Cast Alloy Steel, especially for steels containing elements such as manganese, chromium and molybdenum.
